A solid wing is the best and
most perfect driving tool you can possibly have on a sailboat. Unfortunately we
cannot use it - for practical reasons.
The best you can have on an ordinary sailboat is a freestanding, revolving wingmast accompanied by a sail which is exactly made to form a perfectly shaped lee side.
Thatīs
what we have developed !
As
you can observe, the tube inside the boom is movable in itīs front end -from
side to side.
Furthermore the mast is movable relative the boom.
The force of the wind pushes the sail, the mast and the tube sideways to create this smooth and aerodynamically perfect lee side.
